Anastasia Su-Anne Chen

Anastasia Su-Anne Chen is a Director in the Corporate & Finance Department and Deputy Head of Data Protection, Privacy & Cybersecurity at Drew & Napier, specializing in Data Protection Law. Her key areas of practice are Technology, Media and Telecommunications (TMT), Data Protection, Privacy and Cybersecurity, as well as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Digital Trust.

Prior to joining the firm, Anastasia was Deputy Chief Counsel to Singapore's Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC) and the Info‑communications Media Development Authority (IMDA) for over 9 years, where she was lead counsel for PDPC matters, IMDA's procurement and intellectual property portfolios, and IMDA's Data Administration Group. She has extensive experience advising on the administration, application, and enforcement of Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA), and was involved in the significant national project of amending the PDPA, which came into effect on 1 February 2021. She has advised on data protection policies, data processing outsourcing, cross‑border data transfers, social media application launches, and the development of a legal playbook for a Generative AI company.

Anastasia holds an L.L.B (Hons) from the National University of Singapore and was admitted to the Singapore Bar in May 2007. She has been recognised as a Senior Accredited Specialist (Data & Digital Economy Law) by the Singapore Academy of Law.
