Prof Hans Tjio

Prof Hans Tjio (蒋翰) is a Consultant whose primary practice area is Securities Law. He is a leading academic authority on company, securities and trust law, and has authored works including Corporate Law, Principles and Practice of Securities Regulations in Singapore, Financial Services Law and Regulation, and The International Encyclopedia of Laws, Property and Trust Law in Singapore.

He has spent decades in research and teaching at the National University of Singapore's Faculty of Law, where he has lectured in company law, securities regulation, trusts and equity since 1990 and is presently the university's CJ Koh Professor of Law. He has also been a visiting professor and scholar at institutions in Taiwan, New Zealand, China, the US and Australia.

He brings experience in corporate regulation and governance, having been seconded to the Monetary Authority of Singapore in the Securities & Futures department. He presently serves on the Securities Industry Council, which administers Singapore's take-over code, the Singapore Exchange Regco Board and the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority Corporate Law Advisory Panel.

He advises on securities law compliance, cryptocurrency and cutting-edge issues in company law, and is developing the firm's regulatory practice. He holds an M.A. from the University of Cambridge and an LL.M. from Harvard University.
