Hui Leng Tan

Hui Leng Tan is a Senior Patent Attorney in Bird & Bird's Intellectual Property & Technology Group in Singapore, where she specialises in life sciences. Her primary practice area is Patent Law.

She works with a broad range of clients, from local SMEs to foreign MNCs. As a registered Singapore patent agent, she has considerable experience in patent prosecution, including the pre- and post-filing stages, in Singapore and internationally.

She is also experienced in other aspects of patent-related work, including freedom-to-operate search and analysis, the preparation of third party observations, the preparation of infringement and validity opinions, patent due diligence, patent transaction recordals, and advising on matters involving patent declarations related to therapeutic product licences in Singapore. She is also actively involved in patent revocation and patent infringement matters, which include pharmaceutical and medical device-related patents.

She is listed in IAM Patents 2020, 2021 and 2022. She is also a member of the Examination Committee which sets and marks the papers for the Singapore Patent Agent Qualifying Examination, and a member of the Association of Singapore Patent Agents. Before joining Bird & Bird, she practised in a leading law firm and worked with a diverse array of clients both in Singapore and internationally.
