Jian Ming Chang

Jian Ming Chang is a Partner in Dentons Rodyk's Intellectual Property and Technology practice group and Co-Head of the Patents practice, specialising in Patent Law. He holds a bachelor's degree in electrical and electronic engineering from Nanyang Technological University and was registered as a Singapore patent attorney in 2011. His areas of competency encompass patent drafting, prosecution and maintenance, patent law advisory, searches, due diligence, and validity and infringement advice.

Jian Ming manages a mechanical, electrical and electronic patents portfolio, including designs, and has handled patent matters across numerous jurisdictions, including Singapore, Malaysia, China, the United States, Europe, Japan and the Republic of Korea. His extensive patent drafting and prosecution experience spans technical fields including information technology, telecommunications, mobile applications, blockchain, neural networks, industrial automation, semiconductor and consumer electronics. He has both in-house and private practice experience, having worked at Creative Technology Limited and Ella Cheong Spruson & Ferguson before joining Dentons Rodyk.

Jian Ming holds a Graduate Certificate in Intellectual Property Law from the National University of Singapore and a BEng in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Nanyang Technological University. He serves as Secretary of the Association of Singapore Patent Attorneys (ASPA), a Design Committee Representative of the Singapore Group of the Asian Patent Attorneys Association (APAA), and an Examiner of the Singapore Patent Agent Qualifying Examination.
