Kelvin Kek

Kelvin Kek is a Partner at Allen & Gledhill LLP, specialising in Construction Law, commercial dispute resolution, and international arbitration. He has particular expertise in large‑scale infrastructural and engineering disputes, having acted for a government‑linked entity in a $100 million dispute over the construction and operation of a coal‑fired power plant, and for a multinational contractor in proceedings before a FIDIC appointed dispute adjudication board involving claims of over S$120 million arising from the construction of a hydro‑electric power plant. He also advises on construction adjudications under the Building and Construction Industry Security of Payment Act and acts for publicly‑listed developers, owners, and statutory boards on construction and design disputes.

He has extensive experience in commercial disputes, including JV‑related disputes, directors' duties, shareholder disputes, and property‑related issues, as well as employment disputes, fraud and corruption investigations, and high‑profile white‑collar criminal matters. In 2015, he acted as amicus curiae in a criminal matter concerning offences under the Securities and Futures Act before a Court of three Judges under the Supreme Court’s Young Amicus Curiae Scheme. He is recognised as an Accredited Specialist in Building and Construction Law by the Singapore Academy of Law and is an Accredited Mediator with the Singapore Mediation Centre.

He holds an LL.B. (First Class Honours) from the National University of Singapore (2008) and an B.Eng. (Hons) in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from the National University of Singapore. He was called to the Singapore Bar in 2009 and the New York State Bar in 2012. He is recognised as a key lawyer in leading legal publications in construction and international arbitration.
