Lim Chong Kin

Lim Chong Kin is the Managing Director of Drew & Napier's Corporate & Finance department, and heads the firm's Telecommunications, Media and Technology (TMT) Practice. He also co-heads the Competition Law & Regulatory Practice and Data Protection, Privacy & Cybersecurity Practice. He is a Senior Accredited Specialist in Data and Digital Economy Law by the Singapore Academy of Law.

He has played a key role in the development of sectoral competition regulation in Singapore since 1999, routinely advising regulators on liberalisation, market access, licensing, competition regulation, merger reviews and enforcement issues, and defending regulators in various Ministerial appeals. He also advises global and local telecommunications and broadcasting operators on corporate, commercial, licensing and regulatory issues, and has assisted new entrants in obtaining Facilities-based Operator Licences for regional subsea cable systems and data centre developments. Notable matters include representing All Nippon Airways, Continental and United Airlines on their joint venture notification to the Competition and Consumer Commission of Singapore (CCCS), representing Singapore Airlines and Virgin Australia on a proposed alliance agreement, and obtaining merger approval for Seagate's acquisition of Samsung's hard disk drive business.

Lim Chong Kin holds an LL.B. (Hons) and an LL.M. from the National University of Singapore. He was admitted to the Singapore Bar in 1996 and is also a Solicitor of England & Wales (1999).
