Lim Shao Min

Lim Shao Min is an Associate Director in the Corporate & Finance Department at Drew & Napier, specializing in Technology Law. Her key practice areas include Technology, Media and Telecommunications (TMT), Data Protection, Privacy and Cybersecurity, as well as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Digital Trust.

Shao Min advises on complex telecommunications regulation, data protection and cybersecurity matters, and AI-focused advisory work. She has advised regulators on the application and enforcement of telecommunications laws, and major telecommunications companies on contracts across fibre broadband, mobile, and TV services. In the data protection space, she has assisted organisations with data breach incident management and notifications, including on novel areas such as the Legitimate Interests Exception and breach of statutory timelines for reporting. She regularly advises multinational corporations on data protection compliance and governance, drafting privacy policies, data protection impact assessments, and cross‑border data transfer agreements. In AI, she has advised a large US‑based AI company on training AI models using user data and applicable online safety laws; advised a legal technology company on deploying a large language model product in Singapore; and advised on intellectual property and liability issues arising from the implementation of AI chatbots in the workplace. She was also seconded to a Singapore‑headquartered APAC technology group, advising on commercial IT agreements.

She holds an LL.B. (Hons) from the University of Nottingham and was admitted to the Singapore Bar in 2020.
