Melissa THAM

Melissa Tham is a Partner in the Financial Services Regulatory Practice, specialising in Banking and Finance Law with a focus on financial services regulation, payment services, derivatives, and FinTech. She advises financial institutions and FinTech players on licensing, compliance, AML/CFT obligations, mergers and acquisitions, and change of control approvals.

She has assisted clients with licensing applications and regulatory approvals arising from corporate transactions and internal restructuring. She has also advised on initiatives relating to virtual power purchase agreements, green energy trading platforms, and online philanthropic hubs. Her client base includes fund managers, banks, payment service providers, cryptocurrency exchanges, stablecoin issuers, and FinTech start-ups. In the derivatives space, she has assisted clients with the preparation, review and negotiation of ISDA Master Agreements, trade confirmations, and credit support documentation.

Melissa holds an LL.B. (Hons) from the National University of Singapore and is admitted to the Singapore Bar.
