Pauline Chong

Pauline Chong is the Co-Head of Banking & Finance and a Director in the Corporate & Finance Department at Drew & Napier, specializing in Banking and Finance Law. She has more than two decades of experience advising clients on a wide range of local and cross‑border loan and financing transactions, as well as mergers and acquisitions and general corporate and commercial matters.

Pauline has worked on bilateral and syndicated loan facilities across the ASEAN region, Asia Pacific, and Europe, and has advised on financing of infrastructure projects including power plants, highways, property construction, and ship financing, as well as loan restructuring. Notable transactions include acting as Singapore counsel for Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) in a multi‑billion dollar financing to fund its worldwide acquisition of General Electric's plastics business; acting as Singapore counsel for PT Bumi Resources Tbk in a landmark US$1.9 billion funding from Country Forest Limited; acting for a club of major banks in Singapore on a S$556 million financing package for a major listed developer; and acting as borrower's counsel to local listed entities including A‑REIT and CWT Ltd.

She holds an LL.B. (Hons) from the National University of Singapore (1993) and was admitted to the Singapore Bar in April 1994. She has served as an adjunct tutor and lecturer for graduate and post‑graduate students on banking and finance topics, and was appointed a Teaching Fellow by the Singapore Institute of Legal Education for the ‘Corporate & Commercial Practice’ subject of the Singapore Bar Examinations.
