Siang Pheng Lek

Siang Pheng Lek is a Senior Partner in Dentons Rodyk's Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice group, specialising in Medical Negligence Law. He handles civil and commercial litigation, with a particular focus on medical malpractice disputes, insurance cases, and commercial and contractual disputes.

Siang Pheng represents companies and individuals, medical defence organisations, healthcare institutions and professionals, and insurance companies. He has acted as counsel in State Court and High Court trials, as well as appeals to the High Court and Court of Appeal, and has appeared in coroner's inquiries and disciplinary proceedings before the Singapore Medical Council and the Singapore Dental Council. Notable successes include defending doctors and hospitals in medical malpractice suits in the High Court and Court of Appeal, and successfully defending doctors in Singapore Medical Council disciplinary inquiries on appeal to the Court of Three Judges.

Siang Pheng holds an LL.B. (Hons) from the National University of Singapore (1988). He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, a Fellow of the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators, a Fellow of the Insolvency Practitioners Association of Singapore, and an accredited specialist mediator with the Singapore International Mediation Centre.

He is an appointed Honorary Legal Adviser to the Academy of Medicine, Singapore, the College of Family Physicians Singapore and the Singapore Medical Association. He is recognised as a Litigation Star in Commercial and Transactions by Benchmark Litigation Asia-Pacific and as a Recommended Lawyer in Dispute Resolution by The Legal 500 Asia-Pacific.
