Benedict Teo

Benedict Teo is a Director and Head of the Banking & Financial Disputes practice at Drew & Napier, focusing on banking and financial disputes, commercial litigation, investigations, and international arbitration. He regularly advises major local and international financial institutions, as well as leading property developers and investors.

He has handled numerous significant cases, including acting for Asia Pacific Breweries (APB) before the Court of Appeal in Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken AB (Publ), Singapore Branch v Asia Pacific Breweries (Singapore) Pte Ltd, successfully resisting claims from a S$100 million fraud; representing the liquidators of E.K. Developments Pte Ltd in Sysma Construction Pte Ltd v EK Developments Pte Ltd, with the Court of Appeal examining novel principles relating to compulsory winding-up of a company already in voluntary liquidation; and acting for a foreign public listed company in a US$3 billion arbitration against a State Government for breach of a development agreement.

Benedict holds an LL.B (Hons) from the National University of Singapore (2004), where he was placed on the Dean's List and served as chief editor of the Singapore Law Review. He was admitted to the Singapore Bar in 2005 and to the Supreme Court of England and Wales in 2008.

He is a Council Member of the Singapore Red Cross (appointed June 2025) and a Non-Executive Independent Director of a SGX mainboard listed company.
