Cheryl holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B. Hons) from the National University of Singapore, where she was awarded the Justice A V Winslow Prize for Banking Law and was the top student in Part B of the Singapore Bar Examinations. She is a regular volunteer with the Criminal Legal Aid Scheme and has been appointed as a member of the Criminal Legal Assistance Steering Committee (2024‑2026).
