Ian Lim

Ian Lim is a Partner at TSMP and heads the Labour & Employment desk, which he built from the ground up over his two-plus decades at the firm. His primary practice area is Employment Law.

He specialises in complex transactional, advisory and contentious employment and immigration law, particularly on issues of non-competition, dismissal, discrimination, harassment, retirement and re-employment, industrial relations, and data protection and confidentiality.

He counts among his clients multinationals including Bombardier, Danone, IBM, Marsh and Samsung, as well as C-suite executives. Journals rank him among the sharpest employment lawyers in Singapore, with Legal 500 naming him Labour and Employment Lawyer of the Year at its Southeast Asia Awards 2026.

He ran TSMP's award-winning community services programme for many years. Before handing over the reins, he was instrumental in TSMP's recognition by the National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre (NVPC) as the 2018 SME winner in the President's Volunteerism & Philanthropy Award. He continues to be active in pro bono and community work, especially for migrant workers.

He holds an LL.B. (Hons) from the National University of Singapore.
