John Cheong

John Cheong is a Senior Associate in Dentons Rodyk's Litigation and Dispute Resolution and Arbitration practice, specialising in Dispute Resolution. His areas of practice cover commercial litigation, insolvency law, international arbitration and general corporate matters.

John has represented clients in significant matters, including a Singapore International Commercial Court suit concerning a S$5 million claim for breach of share subscription agreement, a High Court suit involving a S$24 million claim against non‑executive directors for breach of directors' duties (successfully settled for approximately S$350,000), and insolvency proceedings against a Singapore company for a S$107 million debt. He has also acted for former directors in SGX Listing Disciplinary Committee proceedings, obtained approval for a "pre‑packaged" scheme of arrangement for Capital World Limited, and successfully secured a judicial management order in Re X Diamond Capital Pte Ltd. He has also assisted with fundraising for start‑ups and joint venture structuring.

John graduated from Durham University with a Bachelor of Laws in 2016 and was admitted to the Singapore Bar as an Advocate & Solicitor in August 2020.
