Johnson Loo

Johnson Loo is a Director in the Dispute Resolution Department and Private Client Dispute Practice at Drew & Napier, specializing in Family Law. He focuses on family litigation, contentious and non‑contentious probate proceedings involving large estates, mental capacity proceedings, and personal disputes, while also maintaining an active civil and commercial dispute practice.

Johnson has been involved in numerous significant reported decisions. He successfully represented an employee in a high‑stakes legal action involving claims totalling more than S$60 million, which was upheld on appeal (Lim Leong Huat v. Chip Hup Hup Kee Construction). He secured the Court's permission for a wife to relocate to America with the parties' daughter in a custody dispute (AYZ v AZB). He represented the wife in the Court of Appeal in Pang Rosaline v. Chan Kong Chin, successfully overturning a High Court finding on financial contributions. He acted for the husband in the landmark Court of Appeal decision ANJ v ANK, which established the "structured approach" to dividing matrimonial assets. He acted for the wife in a nine‑year litigation securing assets worth over S$11.6 million (BPC v BPB). He also acted for the father in WEI v WEJ, obtaining care and control orders and a substantial costs order against a legally aided party.

Johnson holds an LL.B. (Hons) from the National University of Singapore (2001) and was admitted to the Singapore Bar in 2002.
