Karen Tiah

Karen Tiah is a Partner at Allen & Gledhill, specialising in banking and finance law and financial services regulation. She advises banks, insurers, brokers, fund managers, and other financial institutions on regulatory issues, restructurings, and products, and assists in co‑ordinating industry responses on the impact of changes to regulatory requirements.

Karen has extensive experience across the full spectrum of financial services regulation, having served with the legal department of the Singapore Exchange for five years prior to joining Allen & Gledhill in 2001. She advises clients on compliance with regulatory frameworks, product development, and cross‑border financial services matters.

Karen holds an LL.B. (Hons) from the National University of Singapore (1993) and was called to the Singapore Bar in 1994. She also holds an LL.M. from the University of Cambridge, where she was in residence at Wolfson College in 1998/1999.

She is ranked Band 1 in Chambers Global and Chambers Asia‑Pacific for Banking & Finance: Regulatory, where she is "highly regarded as a regulatory specialist" and noted for giving "commercially attuned advice." She is also listed as a Leading Individual in The Legal 500 Asia Pacific for Financial Services Regulatory.
