Lau Sok Hiang

Lau Sok Hiang is a Director and Co-Head of the Real Estate and Corporate Real Estate Practice Group at Drew & Napier, specializing in Real Estate Law. Her primary areas of practice include all aspects of real estate work, banking and finance transactions, and she has extensive real estate and real estate financing experience.

Sok Hiang has advised major institutional clients, including listed real estate developers, real estate investment trusts (REITs), multinational corporations, major investment and property development groups, property funds, asset managers, and high‑net‑worth individuals on major transactions, including the disposal, acquisition, leasing, and financing of large‑scale projects such as data centres, residential and industrial developments, prime commercial real estate, hotels, and integrated resorts. She has acted for one of Asia's largest real estate groups in the sale of units across various developments, and advised a Singapore subsidiary of a Tokyo‑listed company on the lease of its largest retail space in Singapore spanning six storeys in Orchard Road. She has also advised on the structuring of transactions relating to integrated resorts and hotels, and on complex land issues involving statutory boards such as SLA, JTC, HDB, URA, and EDB.

Sok Hiang holds an LL.B. (Hons) from the National University of Singapore (1995) and was admitted to the Singapore Bar in 1996.

She has been recognised as a Leading Individual for Real Estate by The Legal 500 Asia Pacific and ranked in Chambers Asia‑Pacific for Real Estate. She is also a member of the Valuation Review Board, a Tax Board under the Ministry of Finance constituted under the Property Tax Act.
