Melanie Lim

Melanie Lim is a Senior Partner in Dentons Rodyk's Real Estate practice group and Co-Head of the Corporate Real Estate and Project Development practices, specialising in Real Estate Law. With nearly 30 years of experience, she acts for institutional investors, funds, property stakeholders, developers and family offices on the purchase and sale of entire buildings (retail malls, commercial and industrial buildings), land site acquisitions through government land sales or collective sales, strata unit transactions, and corporate leasing.

Melanie's practice covers mixed-use, commercial, industrial, residential and hospitality assets. She has advised on numerous landmark transactions, including the City Developments Ltd and Hong Leong joint venture acquisition of the Peck Hay Road site for S$542.4 million, advising GuocoLand on its S$627.8 million acquisition of a prime River Valley Green site, and acting for Union Investment Real Estate GmbH in the S$450 million sale of VisionCrest Commercial. She also acted in the S$868 million collective sale of Tanglin Shopping Centre, advised PGIM Real Estate in the S$400 million divestment of Liang Court mall, and advised on the Singapore real estate aspects of the KKR-led US$15 billion acquisition of CyrusOne.

Melanie holds an LL.B. (Hons) from the National University of Singapore (1992).

She is consistently recognised as a Leading Individual for Real Estate by Chambers Asia Pacific (2020–2026), a Distinguished Practitioner by Asialaw (2023–2025), and a Recommended Lawyer by The Legal 500 Asia Pacific.
