Nicholas Chong

Nicholas Chong is a Senior Partner in Dentons Rodyk's Corporate practice group and Co-Head of the Capital Markets practice, specialising in Capital Markets Law. He is a corporate and capital markets lawyer with a focus on real estate investment trusts (REITs), debt capital markets and structured products, having worked in Singapore, London and Malaysia.

Nicholas has advised underwriters and REITs on IPOs, real estate acquisitions and disposals, equity fundraising, convertible bonds, medium term note programmes, bank financing and securitisations. He has also advised on bank regulatory capital issues, structured notes and mandatory general offers. He has acted for the Stock Exchange of Singapore and Singapore International Monetary Exchange on their demutualisation and merger with Singapore Exchange Limited.

Nicholas holds an LL.B. (Hons) from the National University of Singapore (1991). He is qualified as an Advocate and Solicitor in Singapore and an Advocate and Solicitor in Malaysia.

He is consistently recognised as a Leading Individual for Capital Markets by Chambers Asia Pacific and Chambers Global (2010–2026), by The Legal 500 Asia-Pacific and by IFLR1000 as a Highly Regarded Lawyer for Capital Markets. He was named as one of Singapore's Top 100 Lawyers by the Asia Business Law Journal for REIT, Capital Markets and Structured Products.
