Sampson Lim

Sampson Lim is a Partner in the Litigation & Dispute Resolution Department at Allen & Gledhill LLP, specialising in arbitration and mediation. His areas of practice cover commercial litigation, international arbitration, and restructuring and insolvency, including contractual disputes, banking litigation, shareholder disputes, claims for breach of director's duties, insolvency‑related disputes, and arbitration‑related court proceedings.

He has significant experience advising and defending financial institutions in contentious matters, including private banking, trade finance, foreign exchange, cross‑border disputes, and debt restructuring. He has acted for a global financial institution in insolvency‑related proceedings arising from the collapse of the Hin Leong Group and successfully defended the private banking arm of a listed financial institution in customer claims. In 2023, he was selected for placement under the Singapore Supreme Court's Young Independent Counsel Scheme, appearing before appellate panels of three Supreme Court Judges, including the Chief Justice, and was commended by the Courts for his advocacy.

Sampson graduated as Valedictorian from the Singapore Management University Yong Pung How School of Law in 2017 with an LL.B. (Summa cum Laude), receiving numerous academic prizes including the DBS Bank School Valedictorian Award in Law, the Rodyk Prize for Top Student in Corporate Law, and the TSMP Law Corporation Prize for the Best Law Student in Ethics & Social Responsibility. He was admitted to the Singapore Bar in 2020. Prior to joining private practice, he served as a Justices' Law Clerk to the Chief Justice and Judges of the Supreme Court of Singapore.
