Samuel Koh

Samuel Koh is a Director in the Dispute Resolution practice group at Drew & Napier, focusing on international arbitration and complex commercial disputes. He acts for clients in a range of complex cross-jurisdictional disputes across various industries, and has experience in international arbitrations conducted under a variety of institutional and ad hoc rules, including the ICC, LCIA, SIAC and UNCITRAL Rules.

Notable matters include successfully acting for a Chinese government-linked company in an SIAC-administered arbitration involving claims and counterclaims of more than US$579 million, securing a US$146 million award; acting for a major US-incorporated oil and gas company in an ICC arbitration against a British multi-national over LNG sale and purchase rights worth billions of dollars; acting for a Thai Ultra High Net Worth individual in an ICC arbitration against the world's largest food and beverage conglomerate involving claims of US$5.5 billion; and successfully defending Shanghai Electric Group Co Ltd before the Singapore International Commercial Court and Court of Appeal, preserving a US$146 million SIAC award.

Samuel holds an LL.B. (First Class Honours) from the National University of Singapore (2016) and an LL.M. (International Legal Studies) from New York University. He is dual-qualified as an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore (2019) and as an Attorney and Counselor-at-Law in the State of New York (2022). He previously served as a Justices' Law Clerk at the Supreme Court of Singapore and was seconded to Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP in London (2023).

He is recognised by the Singapore Business Review as one of Singapore's top 20 most influential lawyers under 40 in 2025. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb), a Member of the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators, and serves as an Assistant Editor for Southeast Asia for the Kluwer Arbitration Blog.
