Siva Subramaniam

Siva Subramaniam is a Partner (Foreign Law) at Allen & Gledhill LLP, Co-Head of the Maritime & Aviation Practice and Head of Aviation Finance, specialising in Banking and Finance Law with a focus on aviation and asset finance. He represents leading banks, airlines, leasing companies, private equity firms and export credit agencies in a wide variety of transactions, including leveraged leases, operating leases, portfolio sales and financings, sale-leasebacks, securitisation of lease portfolios, and export credit-agency and insurance supported loans.

He has advised Bain Capital on its landmark acquisition of Virgin Australia (in administration), leading the fleet restructuring team for over 70 aircraft and engines, which was awarded Airfinance Journal (AFJ) M&A Deal of the Year 2020. He advised Singapore Airlines on its first secured commercial financings of around S$8 billion with respect to over 40 aircraft, and on sale and leaseback of over 30 aircraft. He has advised on a number of aircraft restructurings for Garuda, Philippines Airlines and Aero Mexico, and acted for export credit agencies on ECA-supported financings for Asiana and Korean Airlines. He has also acted for AirAsia, Scoot, DBS, and numerous other banks and lessors on a broad range of aviation financing and leasing transactions. His work spans JOLCO financings, secured commercial financings, pre-delivery payment financings, and ECA-supported financings across Asia, Europe and the Americas.

Siva holds a Master of Laws from the University of London and a Bachelor of Economics and Bachelor of Laws from the University of Sydney. He is admitted as a solicitor in New South Wales (1995), England and Wales (1998), and the Singapore Bar (2025). He is ranked Band 1 for Aviation: Finance in both the Singapore and Asia-Pacific regions in Chambers Asia-Pacific 2026 and recognised as a leading individual by The Legal 500 Asia Pacific 2026 in Asset Finance.
