Suegene ANG

Suegene Ang is a Partner in the Commercial & Corporate Disputes Practice, the Corporate & Regulatory Investigations Practice, the Employment Practice, and the Myanmar Practice at WongPartnership, specialising in arbitration and mediation. Her main practice areas are commercial dispute resolution, all aspects of employment laws, and contentious investigations. She has led and been involved in cross‑border investigations relating to fraud, employee misconduct, compliance and corporate governance matters.

She was the firm's Resident Partner in Yangon, Myanmar, from 2016 to 2022, advising clients on setting up and managing investments in Myanmar, including commercial and contractual matters, debt recovery, joint ventures, acquisitions, market entry, regulatory and compliance issues, corporate governance, and employment law. She is appointed to the Specialist Mediator Panel of the Singapore International Mediation Centre.

She is recognised as a "Litigation Star" in Labour and Employment by Benchmark Litigation, and her expertise in Myanmar has been recognised by Chambers Global and The Legal 500: Asia‑Pacific. She was named as the "highest rated lawyer" for General Business Law in Myanmar in asialaw Client Service Excellence. Suegene holds an LL.B. (Hons) from the National University of Singapore, where she represented the university in the Oxford Intellectual Property Law Moot, and an LL.M. from the University of Cambridge, where she is a member of Girton College. She is admitted to the Singapore Bar and to the Roll of Solicitors of England and Wales.
