Dinesh Dhillon

Dinesh Dhillon is a Partner and Co-Head of the International Arbitration Practice at Allen & Gledhill, specialising in international arbitration and litigation. He is dual qualified in Singapore and the United Kingdom, and is a Barrister of the Middle Temple with full rights of audience in England and Wales.

Dinesh has acted as lead counsel in international arbitration for global multinational corporations across the telecommunications, airline, hotel, commodities, construction, manufacturing, and projects industries, and has also represented sovereign states. He has represented clients in landmark Singapore court cases concerning the jurisdiction of arbitral tribunals, challenges to arbitration awards, and the enforcement of foreign arbitration awards. He has also acted before the Singapore International Commercial Court (SICC), the Singapore High Court, and the Court of Appeal in banking, corporate, employment, entertainment, insurance, property, and shareholder disputes. Notably, he represented an Indian listed corporation in a shareholder oppression suit relating to one of the world's largest dye companies, valued at more than US$1.6 billion, before the SICC, where the court described the dispute as "monumental" and "more complicated than usual".

Dinesh holds an LL.B. (Hons) from the National University of Singapore and a Graduate Certificate in International Arbitration from NUS. He was called to the Singapore Bar in 1995 and to the Bar of England and Wales (Middle Temple) in 2022.

He is recommended for his expertise in international arbitration and commercial litigation by Chambers Global, The Legal 500 Asia Pacific, and Lexology Index, where he has been described as "one of the best in Singapore", "outstanding", and "strong on strategy and case management". He is Chairman of Pro Bono SG, Vice President of The Law Society of Singapore, Deputy Secretary General and Co-Chair of the Asia Pacific Regional Forum of the International Bar Association, and a Past President of The Singapore Institute of Arbitrators.
