Jae Hee Suh

Jae Hee Suh is Counsel at A&O Shearman in Singapore, focusing on Arbitration and Mediation.

Her published work centres on international arbitration, including “The ‘Problem’ of Costs in Arbitration: Controlling, Allocating and Funding Costs” in The Cambridge Companion to International Arbitration (2021), “Interpretation of pathological clauses: a cautionary tale?” in the Practical Law Arbitration Blog (2019), and “Emergency Arbitrator Relief: A Practical Guide” in the Korean Arbitration Review (2018). She has also written on third-party funding in Hong Kong and Singapore and on investment treaty arbitration.

She holds leadership positions in the field, serving as Vice-Chair of the Young Members Group, Korea, at the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb); as a YSIAC Council Member at the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC); as a Steering Committee Member of Young ArbitralWomen Practitioners; and as a member of the Engagement Sub-Committee of the ICC Singapore Arbitration Group.

Chambers Global (2024) described her as “an extremely bright and intelligent lawyer… very precise on legal points and meticulous in fact finding,” and Chambers Asia-Pacific (2024) noted that she is “proactive and responsible, and is a trustworthy partner to work with.” She was named a Rising Star in Singapore by Asian Legal Business in 2023.

She holds a B.A. (First Class Honours) in Law/Jurisprudence from Magdalen College, University of Oxford (2012), and a Postgraduate Certificate in Laws from The University of Hong Kong (2013). She was admitted as a solicitor in Hong Kong in 2016 and speaks English and Korean.
