Tan Khoon Jin

Tan Khoon Jin is a Director in the Corporate & Finance practice at Drew & Napier, specializing in Capital Markets Law. He has extensive experience advising on IPOs, secondary listings, privatisations, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and private equity investments, with a particular focus on Greater China and Southeast Asian markets.

Khoon Jin has advised on numerous landmark transactions, including advising China Shenhua Energy on its HK$23 billion IPO on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (named "2005 Best IPO" by AsiaMoney); advising Pan Asia Paper on its US$277 million joint venture with Hebei Longteng Paper and its US$215 million syndicated loan (named "Asia Pacific Industrial Deal of the Year" by Project Finance Magazine); advising CGS International Securities Singapore on the secondary listing of China Medical System Holdings Limited on the SGX‑ST; advising Helens International Holdings Co. Ltd. on its secondary listing on the SGX‑ST; and advising Golden Leaf International Group Limited on its Hong Kong Stock Exchange listing in 2025, which was 12,000 times over‑subscribed. He also advises on regulatory compliance, employment, and corporate governance matters.

Khoon Jin holds an LL.B. from the University of London (1997) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice (Mark of Commendation) from the College of Law London (1998). He was admitted as a Solicitor in England & Wales (2000), an Advocate & Solicitor in Singapore (2002), and a Solicitor in Hong Kong (2006). He is bilingual in English and Chinese with native fluency and also speaks Cantonese and Hokkien.

Prior to joining Drew & Napier, Khoon Jin was a partner at multinational law firms and served as Managing Director at an international investment bank and subsequently at a global private equity firm, gaining over two decades of experience in the Greater China region.
