Brandon Yap

Brandon Yap is an Associate Director in the Dispute Resolution practice at Drew & Napier, specializing in Dispute Resolution. He is a counsel and advisor in complex international disputes, with a particular focus on commercial and investment treaty arbitration arising from the financial and technology sectors.

Brandon has represented both private and sovereign clients in arbitrations under major institutional rules, including ICC and ICSID, across Asia, the Americas, and Europe. Notable matters include acting as counsel for one of the world's largest nuclear power companies in a multi‑billion dollar arbitration over nuclear reactor technology licensing rights; counsel to a Southeast Asian state in ICSID proceedings against Chinese state‑owned companies over a major hydropower plant; and counsel to a group of bondholders against the Swiss Confederation in investor‑state proceedings over the US$17 billion write‑down of Additional Tier‑One bonds. He also advises on cross‑border litigation in jurisdictions including the US and South Korea. He previously practiced in Seoul and has a growing practice in the East Asia region.

He holds an LL.B from Singapore Management University (2018) and a Postgraduate Diploma in International Commercial Arbitration from the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (2023). He was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore in 2019 and as a Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England & Wales in 2026. He is bilingual in English and Chinese and conversant in Korean.
