Carolyn Bava

Carolyn Bava is a Partner in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department at Lee & Lee in Singapore. Her practice focuses on Family Law, having started in civil litigation before honing her skills in family law.

Carolyn brings expertise in helping individuals and families navigate the challenges of marital breakup and complex family issues. Her experience over the past 25 years in family law and sound practical advice, whilst guiding parties with the formalities of the court processes through negotiation, mediation or in hearings, has impacted many lives.

Her areas of expertise include matrimonial law, adoptions, appointment of deputies, probate and succession planning.

Her reported cases include Rayco Oilfield Services & Engineering Pte Ltd v Nowsco Well Service Ltd [1999] SGHC 60, National Skin Centre (Singapore) Pte Ltd v Eutech Cybernetics Pte Ltd [2001] 3 SLR(R) 801, TAI v TAJ [2014] SGDC 63 and WTW v WTX [2024] SGFC 9.

She holds an LLB from the National University of Singapore (1995) and is an Advocate & Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore. She received the Ministry of Law, Legal Aid Bureau's Distinguished Service Award in 2020 and is a member of the Law Society of Singapore and the Singapore Academy of Law. She is an Associate Mediator with the Singapore Mediation Centre and a member of its Family Law Panel of Associate Mediators, and serves as a Committee Member of the Law Society Probate Practice Committee (2024–2025, 2025–2026). She volunteers with the Catholic Lawyers Guild and is able to communicate in Mandarin, Teochew and Italian.
