Joel Tan

Joel Tan is a Director in the Corporate and Mergers & Acquisitions Practice Groups at Drew & Napier, specializing in Mergers and Acquisitions. He also serves as a member of the Telecommunications, Media & Technology and Employment Practice Groups.

Joel advises on corporate and commercial law with a focus on M&A, information technology, healthcare regulatory, and employment matters. He regularly advises MNCs, listed companies, and start‑ups on acquisitions, fund raising, commercial agreements, corporate restructuring, joint ventures, and shareholder agreements across a wide variety of industries. He also advises on software services, healthcare regulatory matters (including biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and medical devices), and the full range of employment issues including employee share incentive plans, retrenchment, and restrictive covenants.

Notable transactions include acting for one of Singapore's two Integrated Resorts on a SGD 9 billion investment to expand non‑gaming facilities and gaming concessions; acting for a Chinese property development group in the take‑over of an SGX‑listed conglomerate valued at approximately SGD 1.83 billion; acting for LH Group Limited on a SGD 140 million reverse take‑over; acting for an SGX‑listed conglomerate on the USD 50 million sale of its U.S. biomedical subsidiary; and acting for the vendors on the SGD 48 million sale of a Singapore parking management services company to a Tokyo Stock Exchange‑listed group.

Joel holds an LL.B. (Hons) from King's College London (2013) and was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore in 2015 and as a Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England & Wales in 2023.
