Mark Seah

Mark Seah is a Senior Partner at Dentons Rodyk, co‑heading the Commercial Litigation practice and serving as the Singapore‑Australasia relationship partner, specializing in Dispute Resolution. He commands a strong practice in commercial litigation and arbitration involving complex, high‑value disputes concerning natural resources, ESG issues, commodities, international trade, supply chains, energy, restructuring and insolvency, derivatives, and shareholder and corporate matters.

Mark has acted in significant cross‑border litigation and high‑profile cases involving in excess of US$1 billion. He successfully acted as lead counsel for the respondent in resisting the US$1.5 billion appeal to the Court of Appeal in the Ok Tedi litigation, the first time a foreign‑based representative action of this scale has been brought before the Singapore Courts. He also acted for PNG Sustainable Development Program Limited in multiple proceedings brought by the Papua New Guinea State for control of assets worth over US$1.4 billion (Independent State of Papua New Guinea v PNG Sustainable Development Program Ltd [2020] SGCA 44). In the restructuring space, he acted in the Hyflux Restructuring for the Trustee of perpetual securities holders with claims exceeding $500 million, and in the Ezion restructuring for the investor. He has acted in multi‑million dollar international arbitrations under SIAC and other institutions, and has successfully represented major Korean MNCs, Japanese MNCs, state‑owned entities, and leading commodities traders.

Mark holds an LL.B (2nd Class Honours, Upper Division) from the National University of Singapore (2003), where he was on the Dean's List. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, a Specialist Mediator at the Singapore International Mediation Centre, and a member of the Inquiry Panel of the Law Society of Singapore.

He has been consistently recognised as a Litigation Star in Commercial and Transactions by Benchmark Litigation Asia‑Pacific (2024‑2026) and is a key lawyer in Dispute Resolution, Labour and Employment, and Restructuring and Insolvency by The Legal 500 Asia Pacific.
