Sim Bing Wen

Sim Bing Wen is a Director in the Dispute Resolution practice at Drew & Napier, focusing on commercial litigation, internal and regulatory investigations, and international arbitration.

He has appeared at all levels of the Singapore Courts, including the Singapore International Commercial Court. Notable matters include advising and acting for the judicial managers and liquidators of Hin Leong Trading (Pte.) Ltd in investigating the collapse of one of the world’s largest oil and commodities trading companies, involving claims of fraudulent trading and breach of directors' duties seeking recovery of over US$3.5 billion. He also acted for a Dubai-based high-net-worth family in a dispute with a UK-incorporated bank involving misrepresentation and breach of fiduciary duties, and served as co-counsel in an SIAC arbitration relating to a dispute over the supply of oil and bunkering services with a claim over US$35 million. He frequently represents the Singapore Medical Council, Singapore Dental Council, and Singapore Nursing Board in disciplinary inquiries against healthcare professionals.

Sim Bing Wen holds an LL.B. (First Class Honours) from the National University of Singapore, where he was placed on the Dean's List three times. Before joining Drew & Napier, he served as a Deputy Public Prosecutor in the Attorney-General's Chambers and as a Justices' Law Clerk in the Supreme Court of Singapore.

He is committed to access to justice and regularly volunteers at community legal clinics, representing underprivileged persons in criminal and family law proceedings.
