Stanley Lim

Stanley Lim is a Partner and Head of the Banking and Finance Practice at Shook Lin & Bok LLP, specialising in banking and finance law, project finance, acquisition and structured finance, and cross‑border financing. He is qualified in Singapore and England and Wales, with over 20 years of extensive experience acting for financial institutions and major corporates in local and international loan transactions, property development and collective sale financing, leveraged buy‑outs, structured commodity and trade finance, Islamic finance, ESG finance, vessel finance, REIT financing, and corporate and debt restructuring.

Stanley has led numerous cross‑border transactions across Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Japan, Hong Kong SAR, and China. He has acted for a syndicate of banks in a S$560 million property acquisition loan secured by Grantral Mall; for United Overseas Bank in a S$247 million term facility secured by a hotel and commercial properties; for a syndicate of banks in the refinancing of a US$217 million leveraged facility for a Singapore real estate developer; for International Finance Corporation in a US$830 million greenfield ammonia plant in Sulawesi, Indonesia; and for Morgan Stanley Senior Funding in US$625 million and US$115 million facilities for Hyperion. He has also acted for lenders in various public‑private partnership projects, including the development of the new ITE College West.

Stanley holds an LL.B (Hons) from the University of Bristol (1999) and was called to the Singapore Bar in 2001 and admitted as a Solicitor of England & Wales in 2003.
