Yap Wai Ming

Yap Wai Ming is a Consultant in the Corporate and Financial Services Regulation Practice Group at Harry Elias Partnership, focusing on Banking and Finance Law. He has been in legal practice since 1987 and is qualified to practise law in both Singapore and Malaysia.

His practice encompasses corporate finance and advising corporates on debt capital-raising (including Islamic finance) transactions, fintech, digital asset-related matters, securities, and debt restructuring matters. He also advises on issues pertaining to the establishment of investment funds across a wide range of strategies, including private equity, venture capital, impact, and real estate, and his experience extends to downstream investments and divestment transactions undertaken by such funds.

He is recognised as a “Ranked Practitioner” for Corporate Law & Mergers and Acquisitions Law by Best Lawyers Singapore and Best Lawyers Global (2026–2027). He holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from the National University of Singapore and is a member of the Singapore Academy of Law and The Law Society of Singapore.
