Tan Zhi Feng

Tan Zhi Feng is a Partner and Co‑Head of the Firm's International Trade Practice at Allen & Gledhill, specialising in banking and finance law and financial services regulation. He advises a broad range of financial institutions, including banks, fund managers, broker‑dealers, automated trading firms, market operators, payment services firms, cryptocurrency firms, and commodity trading firms, on licence applications, establishing new businesses, structuring and drafting documentation for new product offerings, policy implementation, regulatory approvals, and regulatory investigations.

Zhi Feng has particular expertise in the documentation of derivatives transactions, advising on netting issues and collateral arrangements relating to derivatives, and also advises on issues relating to international trade such as sanctions, cross‑border payments, foreign exchange controls, and free trade agreements. He has advised on the sale of GCP International to Ares Management, the launch of a regulated stablecoin, and the issuance of tokenised money market funds, and has advised ISDA on netting, collateral, and regulatory issues relating to derivatives.

Zhi Feng holds an LL.B. (First Class Honours) from the National University of Singapore and spent a year at Stanford Law School, where he was awarded the Gerald Gunther Prize for Outstanding Performance in International Trade Regulation. He joined Allen & Gledhill after being called to the Singapore Bar in 2014 and has been on secondments with two major banks.

He is recognised as a Next Generation Partner by The Legal 500 for Fintech and Financial Services Regulatory and as a Recommended Lawyer for Banking – Regulatory by Lexology Index, and is praised for being "excellent in addressing the client's questions and good at handling complex issues".
