Adam Maniam

Adam Maniam is a Director in the Dispute Resolution practice at Drew & Napier, serving as Deputy Head of the Criminal Law Practice and Director of the Competition Law Practice (Disputes), specializing in Dispute Resolution. He handles complex and cross‑border litigation, international arbitration, and high‑profile criminal matters and investigations, acting for clients at all levels of the Singapore Courts as well as in ICC, SIAC, and ad‑hoc arbitrations.

Adam has a strong track record in matters against Senior Counsel, with clients praising his "first‑class advocacy" and ability to "run rings around more senior opposing counsel." Notable matters include successfully acting for members of the De La Sala family in a trust dispute involving assets estimated to be worth US$600‑800 million; successfully obtaining emergency orders in an SIAC Emergency Arbitration preventing termination of a lucrative licensing agreement for novel technology in the oil and gas industry; acting as co‑counsel in an SIAC arbitration involving a major infrastructure project with claims exceeding S$80 million; and successfully representing UBS AG in an S$18 million private banking dispute. He also successfully defended claims for alleged damage to more than 300 Chinese ink paintings, reducing the claim by more than 70%.

Adam holds an LL.B (Hons) from the National University of Singapore (2008), where he was consistently on the Dean's List, and was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore in 2009.

He has been recognised as Young Lawyer of the Year at the Asian Legal Business SE Asia Law Awards (2022), a Next Generation Lawyer by The Legal 500 Asia Pacific, and a Global Elite Thought Leader and Future Leader by Who's Who Legal. He also serves on the panel of counsel for the Law Society of Singapore and has been appointed by the Chief Justice to the Inquiry Panel.
