Adrian Ang

Adrian Ang is a Partner and Co‑Head of the FinTech Practice and ESG & Public Policy Practice at Allen & Gledhill LLP, specialising in Fintech Law. He advises clients on financial services regulation, licensing, payment services, the distribution of financial products, outsourcing arrangements, and conduct of business requirements. He is widely recognised as a leading practitioner in the fintech and financial regulatory space, described as “the most talented crypto lawyer in Singapore” and “the best financial regulatory lawyer in town” by Chambers Asia-Pacific and The Legal 500.

He has been instrumental in advising on a broad range of fintech models, including payment systems, stablecoins, deposit tokens, cryptocurrencies, crowdfunding and P2P lending platforms, robo‑advisors, initial coin offerings, security token and digital payment token exchanges, and NFTs. He advised DBS on the setting up of its DBS Digital Exchange, the first security token and digital payment token exchange in Singapore. He also advised a consortium of financial institutions on creating a new blockchain‑based platform for payments, trade and foreign exchange settlement, and on the setting up of a carbon exchange and global marketplace for high‑quality carbon credits. He serves as an EXCO member of the Singapore FinTech Association (SFA) and has contributed to policy formation and the enactment of FinTech‑related legislation.

He holds a B.A. (Hons) and M.A. in Jurisprudence from the University of Oxford (Merton College), where he was a College Exhibitioner and winner of multiple College Book Prizes, and a Graduate Diploma in Law from the National University of Singapore. He is admitted to the Singapore Bar (2004) and is a non‑practising solicitor of England and Wales (admitted 2006).
