Chua Tju Liang

Chua Tju Liang is the Head of Blockchain & Digital Assets and a Director in the Corporate & Finance practice at Drew & Napier, specializing in Fintech Law. With almost 20 years of experience across China and Southeast Asia, he advises corporates, private equity houses, and venture capital funds on complex cross‑border transactions, with particular expertise in the legal and regulatory aspects of blockchain, cryptocurrencies, and fintech.

Tju Liang is active in the Singapore startup ecosystem and has worked on some of the most significant exits in Singapore. Notable transactions include advising Payfazz on its S$77 million Series B round led by B Capital and Insignia Ventures; advising Ant Financial on its participation in the S$118 million Series C investment round in M‑Daq; advising Luxola on its successful multi‑million exit and sale to LVMH; and advising Goldman Sachs SSG, Apollo, ARCM, and IFC on a US$340 million senior secured loan facility to Niko Resources. He also has extensive expertise in energy and natural resources, including LNG and crude oil sales agreements, JOAs, and PSCs. He currently serves as the General Counsel of the Ethereum Foundation.

Tju Liang holds an LL.B. (Hons) from the National University of Singapore (2000) and studied at Duke University School of Law (1999). He was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore in 2001 and as an Attorney‑at‑Law in New York in 2004. He speaks fluent business Mandarin.
