Alicea Tan

Alicea Tan is a Partner in the Investment Funds Practice at Shook Lin & Bok LLP, specialising in capital markets law and investment funds. She advises both well‑established and first‑time managers on the structuring, formation, marketing, and operation of open‑ended and closed‑ended structures utilising vehicles such as the Singapore Variable Capital Companies (VCC) and limited partnerships, covering traditional assets and alternatives including hedge, private equity, venture capital, private credit, real estate, and digital assets.

Alicea has advised two of the 18 fund managers selected for the MAS VCC pilot programme, completing the launch and re‑domiciliation of funds on the same day the VCC regime went live in Singapore. She has advised on the establishment of a US$1 billion hedge fund, a US$500 million real estate fund, a US$100 million private credit fund, a GBP 100 million mobility fund, and multiple other funds across various strategies and asset classes. She also advises sovereign wealth investors and institutional investors on anchor investments and LP matters, and counsels asset and fund managers on the establishment of business operations in Singapore, licence applications, and ongoing regulatory compliance. In her private client practice, she advises high‑net‑worth clients on legacy succession, family offices, private trusts, and Section 13O/13U structures.

Alicea holds an LL.B (Hons) from the National University of Singapore (2014) and was called to the Singapore Bar in 2015. She is fluent in English and Mandarin.
