Ameera ASHRAF

Ameera Ashraf heads the Antitrust & Competition Practice and is a Partner of the Corporate Regulatory & Licensing Practice, specialising in competition law. She has led the firm's antitrust practice in some of the most important antitrust decisions issued by the Competition Commission of Singapore (CCCS) and the Competition Appeal Board, including the first appeal on a merger and decisions that have established the law and procedure in competition law in Singapore. She advises on merger control, restrictive practices, abuse of dominance, licensing and intellectual property agreements, and compliance programmes.

In her regulatory practice, she advises clients in regulated markets on the applicable framework, supporting them in dealings with government departments on trade regulation, foreign investment laws, consumer protection, fair-trading laws, and environmental, health and safety regulations. She has guided clients across complex regulations in transport, electricity and gas, and the food industry, including on autonomous vehicles, ride‑hailing, taxis, trains, and airlines. She is a board member of the Competition Appeal Board, sits on two statutory boards (Enterprise Singapore and the Building and Construction Authority), and serves on the Main Committee of the Yellow Ribbon Fund.

Ameera holds an LL.B. (Hons) from the National University of Singapore and an M.A. in EC Competition Law from King's College, University of London. She is admitted to the Singapore Bar and the Roll of Solicitors of England & Wales.
