Gary Wan

Gary Wan is the Co-Head of Capital Markets and a Director in the Corporate & Finance practice at Drew & Napier, specializing in Capital Markets Law. His experience covers cross‑border mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, strategic investments, and restructurings in Asia.

Gary has represented multinational corporations in strategic investments and major financial institutions in acquisitions. Notable transactions include advising on the IPO applications for a client's proposed listing on the Main Board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange; acting as Singapore legal adviser to Tam Jai International Co. Limited on its Hong Kong IPO; advising SoftBank on its investment in Grab Taxi as part of a US$2.5 billion funding round—the largest single financing in Southeast Asia; advising Temasek on Singapore consortium arrangements for the S$1 billion acquisition of VIP Petfoods; and advising Standard Chartered on its investment of up to USD 75 million in COFCO International. He also advised on reverse takeovers for Resources Prima Group Limited and M Development Ltd.

Gary holds an LL.B. (Hons) from the National University of Singapore (1998). He was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore in 1999 and as a Solicitor in England & Wales in 2004. He has practised in Singapore and the PRC, and has led cross‑border transactions across Hong Kong, Indonesia, and Vietnam.
