Jerald Soon

Jerald Soon is a Partner in the Mergers & Acquisitions Practice Group at Allen & Gledhill, specialising in mergers and acquisitions, private equity, and corporate advisory. He acts for sovereign wealth funds, publicly listed companies, and private equity firms in transactions across a range of industries, including real estate, healthcare, offshore and marine engineering, and e‑commerce.

Jerald has extensive experience in domestic and cross‑border transactions, advising clients on public offers, schemes of arrangement, private acquisitions and disposals, and joint ventures. He has acted for Sembcorp Marine Ltd in its approximately S$4.5 billion combination with Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd; for the Perennial group in its divestment of a 50% stake in the former AXA Tower to the Alibaba group, in a deal valuing the property at S$1.68 billion; and for the substantial shareholders of Perennial in their S$1.6 billion privatisation of Perennial Real Estate Holdings.

Jerald holds an LL.B. (Summa Cum Laude) and a BBM, Finance (Summa Cum Laude) from the Singapore Management University, where he was part of the SMU team that won the prestigious Willem C. Vis (East) International Commercial Arbitration Moot for the first time. He was called to the Singapore Bar in 2017.
