Jevon Louis

Jevon Louis is a Partner at Shook Lin & Bok LLP, specialising in intellectual property law, technology law, and dispute resolution. Combining a technical foundation in mechanical engineering with legal expertise as a registered Singapore Patent Attorney and Advocate & Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore, he advises a diverse portfolio of clients on both contentious and non‑contentious IP, technology, and data privacy matters.

Jevon has acted in landmark IP and technology disputes, including Nanofilm Technology International Pte Ltd v Semivac International Pte Ltd & 2 Ors [2018] SGHC 167 concerning breach of confidence and copyright infringement by ex‑employees; Sun Electric Pte Ltd v Sunseap Group Pte Ltd and others [2017] SGHC 232, a landmark case challenging the High Court's jurisdiction to hear patent revocation proceedings; National University Hospital (Singapore) Pte Ltd v Cicada Cube Pte Ltd [2017] SGHC 53, the first case concerning entitlement to a granted patent; and Siemens Industry Software Inc v Inzign Pte Ltd [2023] SGHC 50 defending against claims of primary copyright infringement. He has also represented clients in arbitration proceedings before the ICC, SIAC, and HKIAC involving disputes over joint research and development agreements, IT contractual disputes, and ownership of IP rights in defence‑related R&D.

Jevon holds a B.Eng (Mechanical) from the National University of Singapore, a Graduate Certificate in Intellectual Property Law from NUS, and an LL.B from NUS. He is a Singapore Patent Attorney (2009) and was called to the Singapore Bar in 2011.

He is ranked in Chambers Asia‑Pacific for Intellectual Property (2021–2026), recommended in Intellectual Property and TMT by The Legal 500 Asia Pacific (2025–2026), and recognised as a Litigation Star in Intellectual Property by Benchmark Litigation (2025–2026).
