Joel Leow

Joel Leow is an Associate Director in the firm's Dispute Resolution practice group, focusing on complex civil and commercial disputes in both litigation and arbitration.

He has represented clients at both the Singapore Supreme and State Courts levels, as well as before arbitral tribunals under the auspices of the Singapore International Arbitration Centre. He is interested in and familiar with issues typically encountered in cross-border disputes, having co-authored academic publications on private international law cited with approval by the Singapore High Court. He also has experience advising and representing private clients in criminal matters under the Penal Code, Road Traffic Act, Employment of Foreign Manpower Act and Misuse of Drugs Act.

Joel holds an LL.B (Hons) from the National University of Singapore (2018), where he was awarded the NUS Undergraduate (Merit) Scholarship, placed on the Dean's List, and received the NUS Pro Bono Leadership Award. He graduated second in his cohort from Temasek Polytechnic with a diploma with merit in Law and Management. He was admitted to the Singapore Bar in 2019.

He is a regular co-author of the chapter "Conflict of Laws" for the Singapore Academy of Law Annual Review of Singapore Cases (SAcLJ), and his publications have been referred to in academic journals and cited with approval by the Singapore High Court. He is recognised by The Legal 500 Asia-Pacific as a Recommended Lawyer, with clients describing him as "very methodical, ethical, with great client management skills."
