Jonathan Lee

Jonathan Lee is a Partner in the Investment Funds and Capital Markets Practice at Allen & Gledhill, specialising in capital markets law, investment funds, and real estate investment trusts. He advises fund managers, financial institutions, property developers, and family offices on the structuring and establishment of private funds across investment strategies, including private equity, private credit, venture capital, real estate, and infrastructure funds.

Jonathan has acted as transaction counsel in the establishment of Mapletree Global Student Accommodation Private Trust, a fund valued at about US$1.3 billion holding 35 student accommodation assets in the UK and the US; as fund counsel to Novo Tellus Capital Partners on the closing of Novo Tellus PE Fund 2, L.P. which raised US$250 million; as Singapore counsel to GLP on the establishment of GLP Japan Development Partners IV, which raised approximately US$3.7 billion; and as transaction counsel in the IPO and listing of Novo Tellus Alpha Acquisition, one of the first SPACs listed on the Singapore Exchange. He also acted as transaction counsel in the IPO of Manulife US REIT, the first pure-play U.S. office REIT to be listed in Asia, and regularly advises on the regulatory and compliance matters for investment funds, REITs, and business trusts.

Jonathan holds an LL.B. (Hons) from the National University of Singapore. He was called to the Singapore Bar in 2011 and has been a Partner since 2017.
