Kern Wong

Kern Wong is a Partner at Allen & Gledhill, specialising in capital markets law and corporate governance. He advises issuers and underwriters on capital markets transactions including initial public offerings of companies, SPACs and business trusts, secondary listings by introduction, rights issues, placements, establishment of debt issuance programmes, offerings of straight debt, retail bonds and perpetual securities, liability management exercises, and listings of debt securities on the Singapore Exchange.

Kern has advised on landmark transactions including UltraGreen.ai Limited on its US$400 million IPO, the largest non‑REIT listing on the SGX since 2017; NIO Inc. on its secondary listing on the SGX, the first three‑way exchange listing across the U.S., Hong Kong and Singapore; Emperador Inc. on its secondary listing, the first Philippines company to be secondary listed on the SGX; Pegasus Asia on its IPO, the first SPAC backed by international sponsors to list on the SGX; and Temasek Holdings on the inaugural offering of S$500 million guaranteed notes under its S$5 billion Guaranteed Medium Term Note Programme. He also advises issuers on post‑listing regulatory and compliance matters.

Kern holds an LL.B. (Hons) from the London School of Economics. He joined Allen & Gledhill in 2014 as a trainee, was called to the Singapore Bar in 2016, and was seconded to a major bank in 2018.

He is recognised as a "Rising Star Partner" by IFLR1000 Asia‑Pacific (2024, 2025) and cited by The Legal 500 Asia Pacific as "very technically sound", "able to provide commercially balanced solutions", and "always responsive and reliable".
