Mavis Tan

Mavis Tan is a Senior Associate in the Intellectual Property and Technology Practice Group at Dentons Rodyk, specialising in intellectual property law, data protection and privacy, and technology and media law. She handles both contentious and non-contentious aspects of intellectual property protection, including trademark portfolio management, oppositions, revocations, invalidation and infringement actions before the Singapore Trade Mark Registry and the Singapore High Courts.

Mavis has acted for SharkNinja Singapore Pte Ltd in defending a patent infringement action commenced by Dyson involving the Shark FlexStyle hair styling product, including successfully defending a preliminary injunction application. She also advises on data protection and cybersecurity compliance, has represented clients in investigations before the Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC), and negotiates and drafts commercial agreements relating to IT infrastructure, software licensing, managed services, and maintenance. She has also advised clients on franchise, collaboration, and distribution arrangements across various industries.

Mavis holds an LL.B (Hons) from the University of Bristol (2019) and was called to the Singapore Bar as an Advocate and Solicitor in 2021.

She has been recognised by The Legal 500 Asia Pacific for her work in intellectual property, with clients describing her as "kind, professional, and highly knowledgeable".
