Maw Jiun Foo

Foo Maw Jiun is a Senior Partner in Dentons Rodyk's Intellectual Property & Technology practice group and Co-Head of the Patents, Data Privacy & Protection and Cybersecurity practices, specialising in Intellectual Property Law. His practice encompasses worldwide registration of intellectual property, infringement and counterfeiting actions, commercial litigation involving IP, and the commercialisation of IP rights through licensing and assignment agreements.

Maw Jiun has represented a diverse range of clients, including global pharmaceuticals, semiconductor companies, electronic consumer goods manufacturers, medical device companies and tobacco manufacturers, at the Singapore Trade Mark Registry, High Court and Court of Appeal. Notable representations include acting for TOWA Corporation in a landmark patent infringement and validity dispute, representing Comité Champagne in a successful trade mark opposition, and acting for MUJI in a trade mark infringement and passing-off case. He also has significant experience in data protection and cybersecurity, having advised on major data breaches including the SingHealth cyber attack and the HSA bloodbank data breach.

Maw Jiun holds an LL.B. (Hons) from the National University of Singapore (2008).

He is recognised as a Litigation Star in Technology, Data and Privacy by Benchmark Litigation Asia-Pacific (2026), a Patent Star by IP Stars (2024–2026), and a leading individual in Enforcement and Litigation by WTR 1000 (2025–2026). He was also named one of Asia's Super 50 TMT Lawyers by Asian Legal Business (2023) and one of Singapore's Most Influential Lawyers under 40 by Singapore Business Review (2021).
