Sean Chen

Sean Chen is a Partner in Dentons Rodyk's Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice, specialising in Dispute Resolution. His practice covers commercial litigation, shareholders' disputes, trust laws, insolvency litigation, and international arbitration.

Sean has acted in complex commercial disputes and arbitration matters, including representing a client in a SIAC arbitration involving a claim exceeding US$70 million against a German conglomerate, defending four non‑executive directors in a S$24 million claim for breach of directors' duties (successfully settled for approximately S$350,000), and representing Bank of China (Shenzhen Branch) in insolvency proceedings against a Singapore company for a debt of US$107 million. He also acted for a lab‑grown diamonds company in a S$4 million claim, securing summary judgment, and represented a client in a Singapore International Commercial Court suit involving a S$5 million claim for breach of share subscription agreement. He acted in Re X Diamond Capital Pte Ltd, which is the first reported precedent of the Singapore High Court's interpretation of Section 91(3)(d) of the IRDA, and represented a high‑net‑worth individual in defending against an arbitration award enforcement claim concerning a S$23 million Sentosa property.

Sean holds an LL.B. from the National University of Singapore (2018) and was admitted to the Singapore Bar as an Advocate & Solicitor in August 2019. He is a member of the Law Society of Singapore and the Singapore Academy of Law.
