Serene Yeo

Serene Yeo is a Partner at Shook Lin & Bok LLP, specialising in mergers and acquisitions, private equity and venture capital, and corporate restructuring. She advises a range of clients, from small‑to‑medium business owners to multi‑national conglomerates (both listed and private), as well as venture capital and private equity funds, on domestic and cross‑border transactions.

Serene has advised on significant cross‑border matters including CDH Fund V on the acquisition and subsequent sale of Aver Asia Corporation; Pharmaforte on its sale to Advantage Partners; the OMS Group on a US$400 million investment by KKR; BW LPG Limited on its US$1,050 million acquisition of 12 Very Large Gas Carriers from Avance Gas Holdings; JFE Engineering Corporation on its acquisition of 66.6% of Sumitomo Chemical Engineering; and Bilfinger SE on the sale of its Asian businesses. In domestic matters, she has advised Excelpoint Technology on its privatisation and delisting; the founders of Northeast Medical Group on the sale of a controlling stake to Sheares Healthcare Group; and a consortium on its acquisition of a majority shareholding interest in Singapore Medical Group Ltd.

Serene holds an LL.B and a BCom (Finance) from the University of Melbourne (2009). She was admitted as an Australian Lawyer in 2011 and called to the Singapore Bar in 2012.

She is ranked as an Individual in M&A by IFLR1000 (2023–2025) and recommended in Corporate and M&A by The Legal 500 Asia Pacific (2025–2026), with clients describing her as "prompt, efficient, and highly effective", "technically strong and commercially astute", and as offering "practical advice" with the "ability to break down complex legal issues".
