He is also a professor of international law and public policy at the National University of Singapore Faculty of Law and has taught at Harvard Law School, Yale University, and the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy. His 2025 book, “Island in the World: Singapore’s Geopolitical DNA,” was launched with the Foreign Minister. He has authored numerous articles in leading legal and academic journals and is a regular speaker at global meetings including the World Economic Forum and the International Bar Association Conference.

Simon Tay graduated with an LL.B. (Hons) from the National University of Singapore and an LL.M. from Harvard Law School, where he was a Fulbright Scholar and won the Laylin Prize for the best thesis in international law. He received the Public Service Medal, a Singaporean National Day award, in 2006.
